Where & When: What to Do Tonight

Two cool exhibits and a look at the human pysche

Fifty years ago, Yuri Gagarin took the first human spaceflight. Artisphere offers a look into man's relationship with the cosmos at the exhibit C2YN (Countdown to Yuri's Night) with works by 19 artists. Through April 9; no cover.

Another new exhibit opening this week is the fifth annual DCist Exposed Photography Show, featuring 43 images selected from 1,000 entries. These photos represent the best works by emerging photographers documenting life in Washington. At the Longview Gallery through March 27. Get tickets ($10) through EventBrite at or at the door ($15).

David Brooks, columnist for the New York Times and author of the book, The Social Animal: The Hidden Sources of Love, Character, and Achievement, is speaking at Politics and Prose. He will sign copies of the book, which uses a fictional married couple to explore the modern advances in the fields of cognitive science and sociology. 7 PM; free.
