Add one more pop-up to the November lineup, which already includes chances to score treats from Buttercream Bakeshop at Cork Market, gluten-free Pasta Flyer at Toki Underground, and Pepita’s Mexican fare at G. News came today that the popular Chez Le Commis supper club—originally operated out of founder/chef Tom Madrecki‘s Clarendon apartment—is returning Monday, November 17. The new digs: Capitol Hill’s Le Bon Cafe.
This time around, Madrecki is instituting a new reservation policy to allow wider access to the food. Instead of reserving seats via first-come, first-reserve e-mail, Madrecki will hold a random lottery between 6 and 7 on Tuesday for the pop-up’s first seating at 6:30 on the 17th (though hopeful guests should still e-mail chezlecommis@gmail.com with the number of spots they want). Tables will open up for walk-in guests at 8:30. Cassoulet for two will also be available for carryout ($20), alongside bottles of wine. Those dining in can expect a more avante-garde tasting menu with dishes such as aged beef with fried herbs and black cod with cabbage, ginger, and chicken skin. The four-course lineup is priced at $60, with optional biodynamic and natural wine pairings for $30; vino is also available by the glass and bottle.
