Oyamel is hosting a squash-blossom festival starting today and running through Sunday, August 8, with an à la carte menu featuring the delicate edible flowers. Dishes range from goat-cheese-stuffed blossoms (watch chef Joe Raffa make these in our video here) to rice pudding with candied blossoms. While we wouldn't normally recommend stadium food, it's a different story at tonight's minor-league baseball game between the Frederick Keys and Lynchburg Hillcats. Bryan Voltaggio, chef/owner of Volt in Frederick, is taking over the concession stand. He's serving such items as tomato-gazpacho "dipping dots," soft-shell-crab sandwiches, lamb hot dogs, and chocolate-covered bananas.

A.M. Wine Shoppe in DC's Adams Morgan is hosting a launch party for Tequila Ambhar, a small-batch spirit from Jalisco, Mexico. The event includes tastings of the tequila as well as mixed drinks and hors d'oeuvres. $30; 7 PM. For reservations, call 202-506-2248.

The Toyota Farm to Table Tour comes to the FreshFarm farmers market near the White House (810 Vermont Ave., NW) from 3 to 7. Marketgoers can try food from nine local chefs—including Kyle Bailey of Birch & Barley, Mike Isabella of Zaytinya, and David Varley of Bourbon Steak—and pickup complimentary potted herbs.
Friday, July 30
Visit the Loudoun County fair (17558 Dry Mill Rd., Leesburg), which ends tomorrow. Today's events, which start at 9 AM, include a noontime watermelon-eating contest. Things To Do DC is leading a food tour of the District's Little Ethiopia—centered around Ninth and U streets, Northwest. Participants will stop at a number of restaurants, trying a different dish at each place. The event, which runs from 10:30 to 1:30, is $50. Sunday, August 1
The seventh annual Asian Festival—a free, two-day event—takes place in Reston (11452 Baron Cameron Ave.) with 35 food vendors, three entertainment stages, and 150 retail stores. This year's festival, which runs in conjunction with the Legg Mason Tennis Classic, showcases the Philippines. Saturday 10 to 10, Sunday 11 to 6. For more information, click here.
