31 Places to Eat Brunch on Easter Sunday

The egg-centric holiday is coming up fast; book your morning meal now.

Pearl Dive is planning a New Orleans-themed brunch this Easter.

Easter is less than a week away, which means it’s high time to reserve your family’s seats and prepare for a feast. These area restaurants will offer beefed-up buffets, special menus, and even visits from the Bunny (and other animals) in honor of the holiday. Check back for more roundups as the details of more brunches around town become available.

Addie’s will offer an à-la-carte brunch menu from 11 to 3 featuring Southern favorites such as New Orleans-style beignets, shrimp and grits, chicken and biscuits, and eggs Pontchartrain (two poached eggs with tasso ham, jumbo lump crab meat, and roasted corn over an English muffin with stone-ground grits and asparagus). Entrée prices will range from $12 to $19.

Ardeo + Bardeo is doing a three-course menu featuring bacon-and-egg risotto, shrimp and grits, steak and eggs, and French toast, among other options, for $39. Bottomless mimosas and a kid’s brunch will also be available from 10:30 until 3.

Assaggi Mozzarella Bar will offer an à-la-carte menu of Italian Easter specialties like roasted spring leg of lamb with potatoes, mushroom, and cipollini onions; slow-cooked veal shoulder with potato, caramelized onions, and pecorino cheese tart; and a caramelized peach Prosecco granita. A six-course tasting menu is also available for $55, if the entire table chooses to order it.

Meanwhile at sister restaurant Assaggi Osteria in McLean, items will include Swiss-chard- or artichoke-stuffed crepes with mild cheese fonduta, spring-lamb-stuffed Roman artichoke with pecorino cheese, and sautéed filet of sole. A $55, six-course tasting menu will be offered here as well.

Old Town Alexandria’s contemporary French bistro Bastille will offer a three-course brunch menu for $49 including tax and gratuity (half price for kids). Offerings will include lobster bisque, shrimp beignets, and a large selection of sandwiches, salads, and desserts.

Black Market Bistro will serve brunch from 10 to 2:30 on Sunday. Dishes include hardwood grilled skirt steak and scrambled eggs served with roasted Cajun red bliss potatoes and mixed green salad; eggs Benedict with house-made angel biscuits and grilled asparagus and either Canadian bacon or house-cured salmon; and a croque monsieur served with a mixed green salad. Prices range from $2 to $14; a kids’ menu will also be available for the 12-and-under crew.

Bethesda’s Black’s Bar & Kitchen will offer an unlimited brunch buffet from 11 to 2:30 for $33. Seven food stations will offer everything from PEI mussels to scrambled organic farm eggs and herb-crusted Pineland Farms prime rib. A kids’ menu will also be available, as will à-la-carte options ($11 to $16).

For fresh seafood, try BlackSalt Fish Market & Restaurant for à-la-carte offerings from 10:30 AM to 3 PM. Choices include a bay oyster po’ boy; wood-grilled British Columbia salmon with black-eyed peas, baby greens, and bacon vinaigrette; and Louisiana-style poached eggs with blue-shell crab, crawfish, tasso ham, and cayenne hollandaise. Breakfast favorites such as English scones with Devonshire cream and house-made French toast will also be available. Prices range from $4 to $19.

Blue Duck Tavern will introduce new seasonal American classics to its traditional three-course menu, offered from 10:30 to 3:30 at $90 per person ($42.50 for kids 6 to 12 and free for kids under six). Highlights will include locally sourced baked hen eggs with duck confit hash and smoked chili emulsion; spring green vegetable risotto; veal paillard with heirloom carrots, sweet peas, and morels; pears poached in Prosecco; and bourbon pecan pie.

Near the White House, the Bombay Club will serve a Champagne brunch buffet with live piano music and menu items such as lamb palak with spinach, garam masala, and ginger; and shrimp pulusu with tamarind, coriander, and tomato. The buffet is $35 ($25 without bottomless Champagne). Service will run from 11 to 3.

Old Town’s Brabo will offer an Easter brunch buffet for $55 ($10 bottomless mimosas and a $15 kids’ buffet are also available), and will include a carving station in addition to breakfast, lunch, and dessert spreads. The buffet will run from 10:30 to 2:30.

For an especially extravagant meal, try Cafe Milano’s Sparkling Easter Sunday brunch, which will include a raw bar, pastries, pasta, egg, and carving stations, desserts, and sparkling wine for $95. The buffet will be open 11:30 to 3, and kids eat for $35.

Michel Richard’s Citronelle lay out an extravagant brunch buffet to include crab coleslaw, cold poached shrimp, Blue Point oysters, sliced smoked salmon, and eggplant gazpacho, plus halibut with lobster saffron sauce, rack of lamb, and seemingly endless side items and desserts. The buffet is $85 for adults and $37 for children under 12, from 11 to 3. It will be repeated on Mother’s Day.

Co Co. Sala will offer a multi-course Chocolate & Champagne Brunch ($60 for adults, $30 for kids) that includes a dessert display, Champagne cocktails, and a chocolate surprise for children from the Co Co. Sala bunny. Among the menu items: crispy Creole crabcakes, a grown-up grilled cheese with truffle-scented brioche, French toast s’mores, and breakfast flatbread. Reservations are highly recommended; brunch runs from 10:30 until 4.

Coeur de Lion in the Henley Park Hotel will offer a three-course menu from 11:30 to 3 that includes unlimited mimosas or Champagne and a variety of seafood, plus other options such as cinnamon-brioche French toast, for $48 ($25 for kids under 12).

The Federalist downtown will offer a four-course Easter Repast for $70, to include English pea soup for the table and choices of potato hash with confit chicken leg and paprika butter, New York strip steak with poached egg, Amish chicken roulade with black truffle mousse, and apricot charlotte.

14k Restaurant & Lounge’s Champagne brunch buffet will be open
from 9 until 3 and features a raw bar, carving, breakfast, salad, and omelet stations, and a glass of Champagne. It’s $39.95 ($12.95 for kids).

Le Bergerie in Old Town Alexandria will offer a three-course lunch for $43 and a four-course dinner for $65, each with a two-course kids’ option for $18. Highlights will include soft-shell crab, oysters on the half shell, and pan-seared foie gras with rhubarb chutney. Live violin music will accompany the meals.

Market Street Bar & Grill in Reston will offer a Champagne brunch from 10:30 to 2:30 that will include omelets made to order, seafood and carving stations, assorted breakfast treats and desserts, and a visit from the Easter Bunny ($60 for adults, $29 for kids, reservations required).

The Morrison-Clark Historic Inn & Resort downtown will offer a three-course brunch for $45 ($22 for children under 12) from 11 to 3. The menu will include indulgent items such as French toast cups, carrot cake pancakes, steak with cheese grits, and chocolate peanut butter pie.

The elegant Oval Room will feature a three-course, $45 menu from 11 to 3. Menu items include white asparagus soup with blood orange and spring herbs; prime beef tenderloin with passion potatoes, carrots, and parsley; and coconut custard with lemon-lime sherbet and candied mint.

Pearl Dive Oyster Palace will offer a New Orleans-inspired à-la-carte menu from 11 to 3. Think stuffed brioche French toast with chocolate-Frangelico ganache and candied hazelnuts; fried chicken with salt-roasted potatoes and creamy slaw; and Texas Gulf shrimp remoulade with shrimp salad, grilled romaine heart, and brioche Texas toast.

Ping Pong Dim Sum will host an all-day Easter party with a $25 all-you-can-eat dim sum meal; for $15, add a bottomless specialty mimosa featuring exotic juices like passion fruit, lychee, and guava, served at a tableside mimosa bar. Guests who show up in full pajamas or bunny-printed gear will receive a 15 percent discount.

At 701 Restaurant, get a $45 three-course brunch from 11 to 3 and dinner from 5 to 9:30. Standout entrées will include country-fried steak with cheddar grits and poached egg; yogurt-marinated lamb shoulder with chickpea purée, asparagus, and mint; vanilla French toast with balsamic strawberries and lavender whipped cream; and grilled shrimp with fava bean risotto and lemon sabayon. The restaurant’s live jazz duo of piano and bass will be performing all day, and valet parking is available for $8.

Sonoma Restaurant and Wine Bar in Bethesda will offer a limited-run spring brunch series from 11 to 2:30 on Sundays, beginning in time for Easter. Menus will include duck hash with pulled-duck confit and a deep-fried coddled duck egg; braised short ribs with pecorino polenta, greens shallot chips, and a farm egg; and house-made doughnuts, glazed with apple spice and stuffed with Boston cream. Bloody Marys, Prosecco, and other libations complement the à-la-carte menu.

The Southwest Waterfront’s Station 4 is offering a three-course dinner for $38, from 5 to 11 PM. Menu options will include baby frisée with spinach, strawberries, goat cheese fritters, and white balsamic syrup; rockfish crudo with celery emulsion, Peruvian aji amarillo sauce, and popcorn; and carrot cake with maple syrup and French vanilla gelato.

Head to 2100 Prime, formerly the Jockey Club, for a prix-fixe brunch for all ages ($50 for adults, $25 for kids under 12), including appetizer and dessert buffets and plated entrées. Chocolate fondue, waffles, leg of lamb, and mimosas are just some of the options, and special gifts will be provided for little ones.

Reston wine bar and bistro Vinifera will host a petting zoo (courtesy of the Leesburg Animal Park) from 12 to 3, and will serve brunch beginning at 11. It will also hold Easter egg hunts for kids 12 and under at noon, 1, and 2, complete with a visit from the Easter Bunny. The prix-fixe menu is $49 for adults and $25 for kids.

Virtue Feed & Grain in Old Town Alexandria will offer special holiday cocktails in addition to its Irish breakfast, quiche Lorraine, and eggs Benedict. Try the Church Tea, Honey Bunny’s Michelada, or Toigo Orchards Bloody Hell, and if you find one of the lucky golden eggs planted throughout the restaurant, you win a gift card to VFG’s fancy sister eatery, Restaurant Eve.

The Willard InterContinental’s brunch buffet will include custom omelets, house-made donuts, a carving station including bone-in prime rib, artisanal cheeses and charcuterie, a juice bar, espresso drinks to order, seafood including freshly rolled sushi, and an array of desserts, for $95 ($35 for children). Seatings happen at 11:30, 12, 2, and 2:30, and reservations are required.

Zaytinya’s Greek Easter festival lasts for two weeks, beginning April 8. A ten-course menu will be offered in addition to à-la-carte options, and prices will vary widely.
