A bit more about the 11th Street bar and restaurant from the barbecue-focused food truck.

The PORC people have landed on a name for their forthcoming Columbia Heights restaurant. It's Kangaroo Boxing Club. Photograph courtesy of PORC.

Word comes today from the PORC people that the food truck’s previously announced permanent location in Columbia Heights will be named Kangaroo Boxing Club.

Beer, wine, and food items popularized at PORC will be on offer at the space (3412 11th St., NW), which neighbors Meridian Pint and is a few doors away from brand new Italian-inspired small-plates spot Maple. Partnering with PORC’s Josh Saltzman and Trent Allen are Chris Powers and Peyton Sherwood. The new space is set to open in late spring or early summer; check back here for more details soon. For a sneak peek at what to expect when it opens, you can always visit the PORC truck, which will remain on the road after the restaurant opens.
