ENO Wine Room Opens Friday Evening

Georgetown, meet your new wine bar.

Dreaming of a wine-filled weekend? Here’s one way to start that off: A long-in-the-works location of Chicago-based ENO Wine Rooms will debut on Friday at 2810 Pennsylvania Avenue, Northwest, in a building that neighbors the Four Seasons hotel.

The food menu features chocolates from Gearhart’s in Virginia. Appetizers include deviled eggs with duck confit and a bruschetta flight.

The new 72-seat bar has tapped Jeffrey Barrientos—last seen at Minibar—as wine director. He’ll manage a list of more than 100 wines by the bottle. Flights are a specialty at ENO, and feature themes like Rhone Rangers and Acid Trip—a collection of high-acid white wines. New- and old-world wines share real estate on the menu, and the Georgetown branch will include Virginia wines—a flight called Jefferson’s Heirs offers the opportunity to try samples from that region. ENO has partnered with Walla Walla, Washington-based winery Dusted Valley on two signature wines as well.

The effort to include locally made things extends to the food menu. There is charcuterie from nearby Stachowski’s Market, cheese from Maryland’s Cherry Glenn Goat Cheese Company, and so forth. ENO will open with a menu of salads, snacks, and sandwiches, eventually introducing a lunch menu.

ENO. 2810 Pennsylvania Ave., NW; 202-2995-2826. Monday through Saturday 4 to 10, and Sunday 1 to 4. Hours will change when the restaurant begins serving lunch.
