Local leaders in DC, Maryland, and Virginia have banned together in asking the federal government for help in covering the cost—up to $75 million dollars—of the inauguration.

Atheists have filed a lawsuit to prevent praying at the inauguration. This is the latest in a chain of reactions against Obama's choice of pastor Rick Warren to offer the inaugural invocation.
