Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Lynyrd Skynyrd will join Washington’s inauguration festivities, headlining a unofficial ball at the Warner Theatre on Sunday, January 20.

The legendary band will perform classic hits—such as “Sweet Home Alabama”—at the “2013 Heroes Red, White & Blue Inaugural Concert Ball,” which honors the nation’s military service members.

Tickets to the ball are not available to the public, but some 1,000 Washington-area military service members have been invited free of charge.

Brittany Thune, the daughter of Republican senator John Thune of South Dakota, will sing the national anthem at the event, which is sponsored by the Washington Humane Society, the Green Beret Foundation, and Citizens Helping Heroes.

Honorary cohosts include House speaker John Boehner, an Ohio Republican, and minority leader Nancy Pelosi, a California Democrat.
