Macro Polo

Think you’re a Washington know-it-all? Prove it! Check out our close-up photo—taken in the Washington area—and try to identify the subject. Plus, see the answer to last week’s puzzle.

Leave your guess, including where the subject is located, in the comments. The full photo and location will be revealed with next Tuesday’s puzzle. The winner gets bragging rights!

Commenter Brian was in the ballpark with his guess that last week’s puzzle was a mason’s building. But Josh pinpointed the one we snapped—the House of the Temple, a Scottish Rite of Freemasonry building, at 16th and S streets, Northwest. We zoomed in on a small carving on the statue. Great job, Josh!

Have a photo you think might stump your fellow readers? Send the full, large image to eleaman@washingtonian.com and we'll take care of the cropping and chopping. Be sure to include a sentence about where it was taken.
