Soon-to-be-Married RG3 Is Trying to Make Sure His Fiancée Doesn’t Become “Bridezilla”

The Redskins quarterback let that slip during a football news conference.

Oops. Washington Redskins quarterback
Robert Griffin III, who is getting married on July 6, is already beginning to sound like a husband.
We assume it was in jest, but at a news conference on Tuesday, when asked what kind
of groom he will be to his fiancée,
Rebecca Liddicoat, Griffin said, “I’m just trying to make sure she doesn’t become a bridezilla.” The
term is the basis of and name for a reality TV show about brides who become, in a
word, monsters.

While the news conference was ostensibly about the Redskins’ mini camp, which started
today at Redskins Park in Ashburn, Virginia, and the QB’s rehab from knee surgery
(“we’re real optimistic”), Griffin mentioned that in another two weeks he’d be setting
football aside for his wedding and honeymoon. “I have a personal life, too, and I’m
not going to take that away from my fiancée just for football.”

He didn’t give away too much about the Denver, Colorado, wedding, though, including
letting any of the reporters know what he and Liddicoat consider “their song.” He
said he would check with her and maybe reveal it on Twitter. Otherwise? “I’m doing
little things, behind the scenes, with the groomsmen. She’ll ask me if I like this
or that. Sometimes I have a choice, sometimes I don’t. It’s her day.” Now that’s more
like it.
