From the neon signs outside to the Al Green and Stevie Wonder record covers on the walls, Michael Landrum's east-of-the-Anacostia steakhouse has a retro vibe. The biggest throwback? The prices.
If you order right, three people can spend around $50 and take home leftovers. That might mean passing up a T-bone steak, but lots of options still remain, including fried chicken that's smoked over hickory wood before getting crisped in a skillet. Burgers--some of the best in town--are made from a half pound of house-ground steak. And Landrum is nearly as good with seafood as with beef--the creamy crab bisque is stocked with jumbo-lump meat.
