Dream Weekends: Four Seasons

A convenient hotel in the city

Philadelphia

There are plenty of nice hotels in Philadelphia but none to match the Four Seasons. Whatever the season, you walk into a garden–lush greenery and flowers line window walls.

Every guest room has a view–of courtyard, city, or the Parisian vistas of the Logan Fountain and Beaux Arts buildings beyond. The view inspired the name of the hotel's Fountain Restaurant, one of the city's best with Continental menus and a good Sunday brunch.

The Federal-style decor is a bit formal, but guest rooms are big, with silky sheets and lots of amenities. Three concierges on duty mean you never wait for help, and a complimentary Town Car and driver will whisk you to Center City.

The fitness center, spa, and 45-foot indoor pool are first-rate. And kids get toys, coloring books, and milk and cookies at night.

Bottom line: A splurge but you get your money's worth.

Four Seasons Philadelphia, 215-963-1500; fourseasons.com/philadelphia. Rooms start at $240 a night for two on weekends.
