Head for the Mountains
Wintergreen Resort in the Blue Ridge Mountains is an easy drive and a fun place for families and nature lovers.
Now the resort offers a variety of well-priced “add-on” packages that allow each family member to enjoy a different activity, from golf to tennis to the spa.
The Mountain Masters Golf Package includes one round of golf at either course—mountaintop Devils Knob or Stoney Creek in the valley—breakfast, a $20 golf-merchandise voucher, and rental equipment, for $95 to $115 a person on top of the room rate. The Resort at Glade Springs, in the Allegheny Mountains of West Virginia, is also offering a good deal this summer.
A Family Value Package that includes deluxe accommodations, breakfast, and dinner starts at $156 a person a night. The rate is based on double occupancy, but up to two children under age 17 can stay and eat for free when they share the same room as the adults.
Included in that rate is use of the indoor and outdoor pools and fitness center, indoor basketball, weekend bonfires, hiking, movies, and indoor and outdoor tennis. Golf, spa treatments, horseback riding, and activities like whitewater rafting cost extra.

Family Fun
There’s a lot to do at Kingsmill Resort & Spa, including golf, a spa, and a marina. But one reason many families choose this Williamsburg resort is because of the attractions surrounding it. Colonial Williamsburg is just five minutes away.
The resort’s Family Vacation Package exploits its location: Along with three nights of lodging and breakfast daily, the package includes unlimited admission and free transportation to Busch Gardens and Water Country USA and one lunch or dinner per person at Busch Gardens.
