Mia’s Pizzas vs. Generous George’s Positive Pizza and Pasta Place

We're asking you to vote on Washington's best pizza. Here's today's face-off.

UPDATE: This contest is now closed. Mia's won!

Who makes the best pizza in Washington? You tell us! We're asking you to vote in the first Washingtonian.com Pizza Pool, a brackets-style contest that will narrow 32 pizzas to one winner. For a refresher on how the brackets will work, head here.

Mia's Pizzas: This convivial pizzeria's honey-hued crusts—drizzled with olive oil before and after being baked—are chewy and full of yeasty flavor, and toppings are good quality, whether mozzarella and pepperoni or Gruyère and ham.

Generous George's Positive Pizza and Pasta Place
: This whimsical, kid-friendly Alexandria restaurant revels in carb-fueled excess: There are pizzas smothered in barbecue sauce and chicken, dressed up like a taco, even topped with pastas like lasagna and fettuccine alfredo.

Did you know? If you click the links of each of the restaurants' names, you can leave your own review of their pizza at that page!

This poll will stay open until noon on Tuesday.

*To help keep this contest fair, we’ve elected to use an IP address-based poll. This means that if you are voting from an office or network setting, not everybody will be able to vote. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we hope you’ll encourage coworkers to vote from their home computers.
