In times like these (AKA the Summer of Death) we all need some humor. And luckily, it turns out that Arlen Specter is a comedian. Who knew? The summer recess continues: John McCain is getting back to nature, Tim Ryan is loving cable, Thaddeus McCotter is worried about spam, Newt Gingrich is reviewing stuff again, Barack Obama is compelling people to spread the truth and Roger Wicker is helping fight swine flu. The sad passing of Ted Kennedy prompted many members from both sides to offer their condolences, and Orrin Hatch’s announcement about that he wrote a song for his good friend is one of the most emotive tweets we’ve seen all year. Not Dana Rohrabacher though—he’s too busy thanking God for… Dick Cheney.
