Tweet Beat

The best Congressional tweets of the week.

Lots of big news this week: a failed bomb plot in New York, a new anti-illegal-immigration policy in Arizona, an ongoing oil leak that threatens much of the Gulf Coast, and the arrival of Ahmadinejad in New York City. Not so staggering: the news from Lee Terry that the recently passed healthcare-reform law spends money (shock horror) to cover uninsured people (gasp). If you’ve only just noticed that, Representative Terry, you may want to consider seeing a doctor yourself.

In other news, Joe Wilson is campaigning, which means that he may start yelling things in inappropriate places again in order to raise his public profile (and funds). Frank Pallone, Jr. is at the Jersey Shore, which may be the first reference we’ve seen to that locale in over a year with no Snooki/J-Woww/guido reference. Jeff Miller hearts the Obama administration . . . not. And Lynn Jenkins is hanging out at Cair Paravel Latin school, having presumably arrived there through the back of a wardrobe.
