Thursday, October 14
“The Way I Am” singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson comes to the 9:30 Club. The indie-pop artist is playing with Guggenheim Grotto. 6 PM. Buy tickets ($25) here.

Jeff Daniels, best known for the classic movie Dumb and Dumber, is also an accomplished blues guitarist. Fortunately, he plays to his strengths even on stage—most of the songs he’s playing during his two nights at Wolf Trap are humorous. 8 PM. Buy tickets ($25) here.

The Center for Wine Origins is hosting a port-and-cheese tasting at Whole Foods in Alexandria (1700 Duke St.). Learn about and sample ports and cheeses from around the world, and the tasting comes with a free tote bag to take home your treats. 5:30 to 7:30; free. If wine is more your thing, “Sip and Shop” is being held at Vineyard Vines (1225 Wisconsin Ave., NW), with sips from St. Francis Vineyards and a 10-percent discount on fall clothes. The shop is selling a special Chardonnay and tote bag for $45, and $15 of each set goes to the Waterkeeper Alliance. 5 to 8.

Friday, October 15
The DC Labor Film Festival, which kicks off tonight, is celebrating office life with screenings of Fast Food Nation, Office Space, and the area premiere of Fair Game at AFI (8633 Colesville Rd., Silver Spring). Ibirori!, Indego Africa’s third annual benefit and celebration, features a performance from the Rwandan dance group Amariza N’Amasonga as well as a silent auction, food, and drinks. Proceeds benefit the nonprofit, which provides resources to African women to help them achieve economic independence. At the Josephine Butler Parks Center (2437 15th St., NW) from 7 to 10. Fashion Fights Poverty presents the latest in sustainable and global fashion at RAW, its sixth annual gala. This year’s crop of designers include Nomi Ansari of Pakistan, recycled-clothing specialist Chez Kevito, and Comical Monkey’s hilarious T-shirts. It’s at the Gala at Artisphere (1101 Wilson Blvd., Arlington) and followed by an after-party at Fly Lounge (1212 18th St., NW). 7 PM; tickets ($75) are available here.

Saturday, October 16
Scottish comedian Craig Ferguson of The Late Late Show is performing at the Warner Theatre. 7 PM. Tickets ($35 and up) are available here.

Proving Sweden is more than just meatballs and affordable furniture, the House of Sweden is crowning “Miss Sinergy” from among 20 international ladies. “Celebrity” guests include various beauty queens and former Real World cast members. 7 PM. Tickets ($68) are available here; proceeds benefit breast-cancer charities.

The punk-rock legends the Dead Kennedys are playing at the Rock & Roll Hotel. Nervous Impulse and Dirty Tactics are the opening bands. 9 PM. Buy tickets ($20) here.

The hunt is on at the Hunt DC Scavenger Hunt to benefit the Capital Area Food Bank. Solve riddles, find hidden treasures, and afterward, enjoy free food, music, and for VIP ticket ($80) holders, free beer. At 15th Street and Constitution Avenue, Northwest; 11 to 6. Register ($70) here.

Catch the final night of Altar Boyz, the satirical story of a Christian boy band, at the Gunston Arts Center (2700 S. Lang St., Arlington). 8 PM. Buy tickets ($15) here. Songs like "Girl You Make Me Wanna Wait" and "Jesus Called Me On My Cell Phone" will have even the most secular audience dancing in aisles and praising the Lord.

Sunday, October 17
He’s known for his iconic Campbell’s soup cans and portraits of Marilyn Monroe, but Andy Warhol was more than just a chronicler of commerce and celebrity. At “Andy Warhol: The Last Decade,” the Baltimore Museum of Art (Art Museum Dr. at N. Charles and 31st sts.) presents the first exhibit to explore his later works, including self-portraits and interpretations of da Vinci’s “The Last Supper.” It runs through January 9. Tickets ($15) include an audio tour and are available here.

Get carried away at the final day of the Hot Air Balloon, Wine, and Music Festival in Milwood, Virginia. The colorful balloons are launched at sunrise and sunset, and throughout the day you can take tethered rides. Want to keep your feet on the ground? There’s also winetasting, a classic car show, and lots of food and craft vendors. Admission is $10; click here for additional ticket packages. 7 to 4.
