Great Bars 2011: Vienna Inn

Last year, this bar celebrated its 50th anniversary, and it’s easy to see why the locals are still coming back. Frosted mugs of cheap beer are dispensed by salty bartenders who know most of their customers by name. The reliable roster of bar-food standards—wings, chili dogs, gravy fries—taste pretty good. And the jukebox blares sing-along favorites from “Freebird” to “Midnight Train to Georgia.” No glitz or glamour, but therein lies the charm.
