On offer will be three courses–two choices for each–and options will include a leek-and-Roquefort quiche to start and a chocolate brownie with cherry sorbet to finish. For the main event, we like the sound of fried squash blossom with ratatouille and a “perfect egg.” (Perfect? Mom will be the judge of that.)

Central
Central will enhance its standard lunch menu with breakfast dishes–eggs Benedict, brioche French toast–that Mom could totally re-create at home, if only she weren’t so darn busy. Service will run from noon to 2:30, so you don’t even have to get up early to partake.

Cork Wine Bar | Menu
Though Cork won’t offer a special Mother’s Day menu, the communal nature of its standard brunch is great for the close-knit family. Everything–pastries, cheese, salads, and heartier options–is made for sharing, and there are several mimosa options on the cocktail list in case all that closeness inspires an urge to take the edge off.

Et Voila! | Menu
This Belgian neighborhood spot will open early on Mother’s Day (9 AM instead of 11) for early risers and is serving its standard brunch menu along with both savory and sweet crepe specials between 9 and 4.

Fairmont Hotel Georgetown

It will offer a six-course holiday menu that will include mushroom-and-chive crepes, fresh Dover sole sautéed with lobster and tomato, and grilled rack of lamb, among tons of other options.

Marcel’s
$80 per person
Maybe your mom got you out of a bind this year. Or maybe you got married and she made all the arrangements. Or perhaps you’ve just realized how great she is, and this is the time for a big thank you. For your party-animal little brother, there’s the hangover special. Let’s just hope he actually shows up in time to eat it.
