Great Bars 2013: Fuego Cocina y Tequileria

Thirty seats surround the bar at this big, bright taqueria and
tequileria from the owners of DC Coast and PassionFish, but the actual
standing-and-sitting capacity is about five times that. A relatively
mature Clarendon crowd fills the space—engaged in conversation or
entertained by a game on one of the flat-screen TVs (rather than, say,
yelling and spilling things). Another perk: a weekday 4-to-7 happy hour
featuring a very respectable house margarita for $5. Insider tip: Friday
through Tuesday, grab a seat near slender, brown-haired bartender Dale
DaSilva—he’s speedy, attentive, and full of useful menu recommendations.
