Great Bars 2013: Bourbon Steak Lounge

Precise and scholarly, bar co-manager Jamie Macbain has an
old-school nattiness, while partner Duane Sylvestre exudes a sunny
storyteller’s charm. Together, this duo mixes up great drinks at Michael
Mina’s luxe steakhouse in the Georgetown Four Seasons Hotel, holding court
over a crowd of business travelers and Georgetown scenesters indulging in
duck-fat French fries, hot buttered rum with vanilla bean and allspice,
and Armagnac infused with foie gras. Lighter libations include the
excellent Skaal, with aquavit, fresh lime, celery juice, and habanero
syrup. Insider tip: It’s a great place to meet up with a nondrinker,
thanks to mocktails designed for an adult palate. Try the popular West
