15 Great Escapes: Broadway-Bound

Catch Tom Hanks, Alec Baldwin, Sigourney Weaver, and more stars on Broadway this spring.

If you love the theater, consider a trip to New York City this
spring. Star sightings on Broadway abound, including Tom Hanks in Nora
Ephron’s Lucky Guy, Alec Baldwin in Lyle Kessler’s Orphans,
Nathan Lane in Douglas Carter Beane’s The Nance, Cicely
Tyson in Horton Foote’s The Trip to Bountiful, and Sigourney
Weaver and David Hyde Pierce in Christopher Durang’s very entertaining
Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. New musicals with star
pedigrees: Kinky Boots, written by Harvey Fierstein, with music
by Cyndi Lauper; an adaptation of Roald Dahl’s Matilda (winner of
seven Olivier Awards in London); Diner, based on Barry Levinson’s
1982 film, with songs by Sheryl Crow; and Cinderella, a stage
version of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s TV favorite. For details and tickets,
