Exercise at Equinox, Donate to Charity

The gym launches Fit for Charity events to help raise money for local organizations.

Beginning Saturday, you’ll be able to work up a sweat while donating to a good cause when you take a class at Equinox Bethesda or Tysons Corner.

Equinox has announced a new initiative called Fit for Charity, a once-a-month event where gym-goers can donate to a cause simply by taking one of the club’s fitness classes, including Animal Flow and MetCon3. (The cycling class is not included.)

Here’s how it works: Each month an organization will choose one class from Equinox’s schedule and invite anyone—nonmembers included—to the 45-minute class for a fee ranging from $25 to $30. All money raised will go toward the organization’s cause.

The first Fit for Charity event is June 15 at Equinox Bethesda with the Washington Ballet. Sign up for the $25 Shockwave class at Washington Ballet’s website. Cash will also be accepted at the door.

Got kids? Equinox will offer childcare services for anyone participating in a Fit for Charity event.
