Last-Minute Halloween Workouts in Washington

Burn off that candy and win prizes at these costume-themed workouts.

If you’ve already gorged yourself on Halloween candy, these fun workouts will help you burn off some calories. Fitness studios and run clubs are hosting Halloween-themed classes, where everyone is encouraged to dress up. Those in costume will receive major perks, from discounted fitness gear to free classes.

17th Street High Heel Race
October 29 at 9 PM
The annual tradition is back Tuesday, drawing crowds of drag queens and costumed runners to 17th Street. The parade begins at 7, and the race starts at 9.

Rocky Horror Picture Show Ride
October 31, 6 to 8 PM
Spin your wheels at Off Road DC Thursday night while watching the cult classic. Costumes and singing along are encouraged.

Glow-in-the-Dark Yoga
October 30 at 7:45 PM and November 1 at 7:30 PM
Mind the Mat in Alexandria hosts two special yoga classes set to a Halloween-themed playlist. Get your down dog on under a blacklight. Glow sticks will be provided.

Dress Up for Freebies

Wear a Halloween costume during any class at Zengo Cycle in Bethesda on Thursday and you’ll receive a free credit toward a future class.

Halloween Costume Contest

Pure Barre DC hosts an all-day Halloween costume contest at its studio in Dupont Circle. The prize is a big one: a month of unlimited classes. Finalists (the best costumes from each class) will receive 10 percent off their next package. Even if you don’t win, everyone who dresses up will receive 20 percent off retail.

Sculpt DC hosts a Halloween-themed 60-minute ride at its Penn Quarter studio, followed by refreshments. Expect prize giveaways, too.

CycleLuv in Leesburg is hosting a Halloween costume contest at its 9:15 AM and 6 PM rides on Wednesday. On Thursday, the 5:30 and 6:45 PM classes are free.
