The Washington Post Now Publishes Something Every Minute

A promo for a Washington Post sale (a really good deal! $9.99 for six months of digital access!) mentioned something that caught my eye:

washington-post-every-minute

A “new piece of digital content every minute.” EVERY MINUTE? There are 1,440 minutes in a day, Washington Post! And your newsroom has around 700 staffers! Are they okay?

Back in May, Robinson Meyer reported that the Post publishes about 500 original pieces of content and 1,200 other things–wire stories, what-have-you. “That’s more than one story every two minutes,” Meyer marveled. The newspaper has now grown that figure by 20 percent.

A Post spokesperson confirmed the number in the promo was accurate. That subscription offer ends Friday.
