Washington Brain & Spine is proud of its continued presence in Washingtonian Top Docs for over 15 years. We offer comprehensive neurosurgical, spine, neurovascular, and movement disorders consultation and treatment. Drs. Zachary Levine, Jay Rhee, David Herzig, Wayne Olan, Dimitri Sigounas, Aviva Ellenstein and our newest addition, Alex Tai are all patient focused and considered experts in their field. Providing the highest quality of care and advancing clinical neuroscience by training residents and engaging in scholarly activity are integral to our practice.

We engage in a holistic approach to allow our patients to understand their diagnosis and treatment options. All of our providers are board certified. Dr. Levine has practiced in the area for more than 20 years with extensive experience in Deep Brain Stimulation, Focused Ultrasound, neurooncological and skull base surgery as well as spinal surgery. Dr. Rhee is fellowship trained in complex and minimally invasive spinal surgery, as well as having significant general neurosurgery experience. He has taught courses in complex spinal surgery and minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Herzig is well versed in both cranial and spinal surgery, minimally invasive techniques and has taught neurosurgery board review courses. Dr. Olan and Dr. Sigounas are experts in the acute treatment of stroke, cerebral aneurysms and other cerebrovascular disease using minimally invasive or endovascular techniques. Dr. Ellenstein is a well-recognized specialist in Parkinson’s Disease and movement disorders. She completed her fellowship in Movement Disorders at NIH and serves on the medical advisory board of Parkinson Foundation of the National Capital Area. Dr Tai is fellowship trained in minimally invasive and complex spine surgery, as well as having completed a fellowship skull base and open cerebrovascular surgery. Dr Tai has published extensively in the area of minimally invasive approaches to skull base and spine.

With clinical office locations in Alexandria, White Oak, Rockville and Frederick, we are also excited about our expansion into providing physical therapy services. With over 10 years of experience, Dr. Kaileen Lee leads Washington Brain and Spine’s physical therapy division with service locations in both Rockville and Frederick.
