Before becoming a family law attorney, Sheila was a corporate litigator at Baker Botts, L.L.P., engaged in high-stakes litigation and sensitive internal investigations. While her prior practice taught her how to succeed in high stress situations, she moved to family law for the experience of helping real people during one of the most difficult times in their lives. Sheila supports her clients in all areas of family law, from issues of spousal support, custody and child support to property allocation and issues involving same-sex couples. 

In addition to being recognized by the Washingtonian as one of D.C.’s top lawyers since 2017, Sheila has been named a Super Lawyer in Washington D.C.’s Super Lawyers Magazine and Maryland’s Super Lawyers Magazine every year since 2017. Most recently, Bethesda Magazine recognized her as a Top Divorce Lawyer in 2023. 

Ms. Kadagathur received her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and her B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania.
