Susan E. Huhta is a partner at Outten & Golden LLP, one of the country’s largest law firms exclusively focused on employees and individuals. She is the managing partner of the firm’s Washington D.C. office and heads the firm’s D.C. individual practice group.

Sue has been representing employees for almost 30 years. She employs a highly client-centric approach, and carefully considers all aspects of a client’s life and needs before advising clients. She advises executives and professionals on a wide range of employment matters, and regularly represents them in negotiations, arbitrations, and litigations in state and federal courts. Her practice focuses on wrongful termination; discrimination, harassment and retaliation; family and medical leave and whistleblower claims; and breaches of contract. She also represents executives in the negotiation of non-compete, bonus, change of control, separation and severance agreements. 

Frequently, Sue takes on high profile cases and litigations, including important public interest and civil rights cases. In 2024, she represented three Black airline passengers in the successful litigation and settlement of their high-profile racial discrimination claims against American Airlines. In 2021, she successfully represented a senior female employee at the U.S. Department of Justice in a jury trial of her gender discrimination claims. She also successfully prosecuted one of the first taxicab discrimination cases in the U.S. and has represented the NAACP in various public accommodations race discrimination matters.
