While living there for more than a quarter of his presidency, Lincoln made crucial decisions about the Civil War and developed the Emancipation Proclamation.

The Gothic-Revival style home features handsome woodwork, marble fireplaces, an inviting veranda, and expansive lawns bordered by mature trees. Our most popular package includes an outdoor ceremony on the picturesque south lawn, where you and your partner can exchange vows with the Cottage as a backdrop. After the ceremony, guests will be invited inside to sip cocktails and explore this iconic historic home. With tour guides on hand, your guests will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich history of the space and Lincoln’s time here. As the day transitions into evening, guests will be ushered to an elegant tent on one of our expansive lawns for dinner and dancing.
