The Pizza Pool: Pizzeria Paradiso vs. Potomac Pizza

We're asking you to vote on Washington's best pizza. Here's today's face-off.

UPDATE: This poll is over; Pizzeria Paradiso won!

Who makes the best pizza in Washington? You tell us! We're asking you to vote in the first Washingtonian.com Pizza Pool, a brackets-style contest that will narrow 32 pizzas to one winner. For a refresher on how the brackets will work, head here.

You can also vote in the Italian Store vs. Coppi's matchup, which is going on here until 3 PM today. UPDATE: That poll is closed; the Italian Store won! And stay tuned for today's later matchup, which will be Vace vs. Flippin' Pizza.

To see today's match up, check below.

Pizzeria Paradiso: Stick with what comes out of the wood oven at this long-standing area pizza fave. Our favorites are the Atomica, with salami and hot-pepper flakes, and the simple Margherita, which lets the pizza's elemental ingredients shine.

Potomac Pizza: There's pretty darn good pizza at this small Maryland deli chain. The fresh-tasting tomato sauce is applied with restraint and not too sweet. The meats are good and plentiful and the cheese nicely crusty.

This poll will stay open until 3 PM on Thursday.

*To help keep this contest fair, we’ve elected to use an IP address-based poll. This means that if you are voting from an office or network setting, not everybody will be able to vote. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we hope you’ll encourage coworkers to vote from their home computers.
