Dirt Cheap Eats 2007: Woodlands – Langley Park

Lunch & Dinner Feasts

Can’t decide among the choices on this sprawling vegetarian menu? Glance around the dining room. Chances are you’ll see giant, golden-brown cylinders alighting on nearby tables. These thin, crispy pancakes, called dosas, are the heart of this London-based chain.

A version stuffed with cumin-spiced potatoes and onions ($6.25) is excellent and big enough for two to share. Don’t miss the rich curries, including rewarding renditions of baingan barta ($7.95), made from blistered eggplants, and malai kofta ($8.95)—veggie dumplings submerged in a rich almond-cream sauce.
