With a life-sized Marilyn Monroe statue at the entrance, this boutique hotel is small but elegant. Its marble foyer is set between the fun-colored M Street Bar and Grill and its cocktail counterpart, the 21 M Lounge.
Once around Marilyn, a line of elevators lead you to rooms that are warm, functional, and stylish, accented with ornamental detailing and gold leaf. The rooms are spacious, with work areas. If you are willing to pay more, there are club-level options as well as 16 Sky rooms that have balconies with city views.
M Street Bar and Grill serves a “contemporary fusion” menu, and also has a Sunday brunch. It also has outdoor seating in the summer, and a good happy hour that doesn’t get too crowded.
