Artfully Chocolate/Kingsbury Confections (known as ACKC) is inviting chocolate devotees to its DC location to learn how to pair wines with their favorite confections. In the two-hour class, you’ll sample six wines with two chocolate pairings each. Choose from the following class dates (classes are 6:30 to 8:30): Janurary 20, February 24, March 17, March 31, April 14 or 28, May 12 or 26, June 9 or 23. Hurry, each class can only hold 25 participants.


$27 for a 30-minute massage at Body Rays (a $55 value)

Body Rays in Arlington is offering your choice of a 30-minute deep-tissue or Swedish massage. The deal is 51 percent off an already affordable price.

$15 for $30 worth of food and drink at Angeethi Authentic Indian Cuisine
Angeethi is offering deals at its three locations (this voucher works only in Herndon and Leesburg; Groupon is featuring a separate voucher for the Bethesda location). The restaurant serves traditional fare such as tikka masala, and there’s live music on weekends.


$125 for 15 weeks of kids’ dance classes at CityDance Center at DC Dance Collective (a $250 value)

CityDance Center features classes for kids ages three through 18, with choices such as Creative Movers—where three- and four-year-olds learn coordination and spatial awareness—and Razzamatazz Jazz for five-to-seven-year-olds to learn improvisation and jazz basics. Get 15 weeks of classes (Saturdays from February 12 through June 11) for half price.

$15 for $30 worth of Dangerously Delicious Pies

Maybe you’ve seen the truck go by—it’s the all-black one with a serious-looking pie-and-crossbones emblem. Inside of that interesting vehicle (and at its storefront location in Northeast DC), there are sweet and savory pies. The storefront is open until 3 AM on weekends. Flavors include hot-rod potato and blueberry.


$59 for all-day paintball for two at Pev’s Paintball (a $120 value)

Channel your inner hunter with an all-day paintball excursion at Pev’s Paintball in Aldie, Virginia (near Chantilly). Your $59 gets you admission for two, equipment, and 200 paintballs to run wild with on 48 acres of sets, fields, and fortresses. Have a colorful blast with this half-off deal.


$175 for an on-site romantic five-course dinner (a $350 value)

If you have the heart of a Romeo but the cooking skills of a chimp, let FourJanes Catering compensate for your shortcomings. The company will come to your home and prepare a romantic five-course dinner, with menu items such as stuffed mushrooms, shrimp and chicken in Champagne sauce, crab imperial, and chocolate pôts de crème. The price includes travel within 25 miles of Germantown, and customers outside the service area will incur an additional charge. Book well in advance—the company only does only one job a night.

Deals for Deeds

$10 for six tacos and two drinks from the TaKorean food truck

TaKorean serves Mexican-style tacos with a Korean-barbecue twist. If tangy chicken with kimchee on a warm tortilla sounds like your cup of tea, buy the deal and get six tacos and two Jarritos for half price. This week, Deals for Deeds is offering food-truck deals to benefit Miriam’s Kitchen; a portion of the deals’ proceeds go toward providing 250 meals at this nonprofit.

This 50-percent-off deal gives you a one-night stay for two in a standard classic room (your choice of one king-size bed or two doubles), plus a $100 outdoor-activities credit and complimentary breakfast for two.

MindBodyGreen Travel

$1,299 for a Yoga Alive Retreat at Xinalani in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (a $1,495 value)

Xinalani in Puerto Vallarta is recognized by the Yoga Journal as one of the “seven most spectacular places to reconnect with your practice.” This retreat is from January 28 through February 3, and is led by California yoga stars Katie Silcox and Chrisandra Fox.
