The new Asia Trail at the National Zoo (3001 Connecticut Ave., NW; 202-633-4800; nationalzoo.si.edu) is lots of fun: The sleek design features waterfalls, interactive displays, and spacious yards for seven species such as red pandas, clouded leopards, and sloth bears—including the cub, Balawat. No doubt giant pandas will be the stars, but don’t miss the playful Asian small-clawed otters and fascinating fishing cats.
