Setting out cheese and crackers for company may sound about three decades behind the times. But our current favorite cheese-and-cracker combo—Di Bruno Bros. Port Wine Spread on ultra-thin Australian Water Wheels—is so good that you won’t worry about seeming old-fashioned. The cheese, sold in a plastic crock—remember WisPride?—is made with cheddar and nonalcoholic port. Ibo Selmy stocks it at his Bethesda gourmet shop, Cornucopia (8102 Norfolk Ave.; 301-652-1625). It’s tangy and smooth—several notches above WisPride and a perfect mate for the crispy texture of Water Wheels (available at Whole Foods).
