The Lookout: Laughs at the State Theatre

The Lookout gives you a heads-up on the best events taking place around town. Tuesday, famed female comedian Janeane Garofalo brings the fun to Falls Church.

Janeane Garofalo

Janeane Garofalo, famed for her sarcasm and nerdy not-so-chic, is coming to Falls Church tomorrow, Tuesday March 13.  She’ll take the stage solo at the 70-year-old State Theatre in Falls Church.  Garofalo is known for her witty yet self-deprecating stand-up, as well as her appearances in "Reality Bites."  She was also a part of the liberal radio network Air America Radio in its fledgling years.  Garofalo will likely have plenty to say about current politics, so be prepared for her blatant statements and uncompromising opinions.

Michael Showalter, co-creator of Comedy Central’s sketch show “Stella,” is the opening act.  Judging by the brash "Stella," Showalter won’t be holding back, either.  Showalter also co-wrote and co-produced “Wet Hot American Summer” in 2001, which featured Garofalo along with other well-known comedians such as Molly Shannon, Michael Ian Black and David Hyde Pierce.
