Apple genius Steve Jobs gets the stage treatment in The Agony and the Ecstasy of Steve Jobs at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company through April 17. Mike Daisey wrote the show and uses the title character as a jumping-off point for an exploration of humanity, globalization, and technology. Tickets are ($40 to $65) at the theater’s site. The performance tonight is pay-what-you-can, and you can buy tickets at the door beginning at 6 PM.

Tuesday, March 22
The Paul Taylor Dance Company is known for its inventive and energetic contemporary routines. Catch the ensemble, founded by a Washington native, at the Kennedy Center through March 24 as it performs some works for the first time in our area. Buy tickets ($22 to $65) at the Kennedy Center site. After tonight’s performance, enjoy a discussion with members of the company.

Wednesday, March 23
Spend an evening with the performance-art trio Blue Man Group. Expect spin art, marshmallows, drumming, and lots of neon paint. The show is running through April 3 at the Warner Theatre. Purchase tickets ($32 to $92) through Ticketmaster.

Thursday, March 24
Janet Jackson and her greatest hits are coming to DAR Constitution Hall. The tour is promoting her latest album, Number Ones. 8 PM; get tickets ($98 to $149) at Ticketmaster. Also March 22 at 8.
