ART: “Put A CORC In It” celebrates a collection of new work by 17 students from the Corcoran College of Art & Design, which will be on display inside the Renaissance Dupont Circle Hotel’s bar and lounge through Labor Day. The event includes a winetasting paired with cheeses and hors d’oeuvres, plus a chance to view the art. 6 to 8; free.

MUSIC: The band Destroyer is not as hard-core as the name suggests. Frontman Dan Bejar—also a member of the supergroup the New Pornographers—has a melodic sound and witty lyrics on the group’s latest offering, Kaputt. At the Black Cat, along with the War on Drugs. 9 PM; buy tickets ($15) at Ticket Alternative.

OPERA: Today is the last chance to catch Orpheus and Eurydice, part of the Urban Arias Spring Festival at Artisphere. The two other productions in the series of operas (all less than 90 minutes) are Green Sneakers and Glory Denied, both running through April 10. Purchase tickets ($19 to $22) at Artisphere’s site.
