Bottomless deals, outdoor eating, and eggs galore.

Whether you’re looking to check out a new restaurant, dine al fresco, or get silly over bottomless mimosas, here are seven recently debuted brunches to try this weekend.


2400 Wisconsin Ave., NW; 202-827-8745

Glover Park’s Italian newcomer just rolled out brunch service with dishes such as lemon pancakes, soft-scrambled eggs with prosciutto and ricotta, and a mozzarella-egg sandwich. Not in the morning mood? You can still get pizza and limoncello slushies. Check out the front patio on nicer days.

Hours: Saturday and Sunday 11 to 3


El Centro D.F. Georgetown

1218 Wisconsin Ave., NW; 202-333-4100

Hungry and thirsty? The Georgetown spinoff of Richard Sandoval’s 14th Street Mexican spot offers an all-you-can-eat-and-drink brunch for $35. Get your fill of egg and chorizo tacos, chilaquiles, shrimp ceviche, and more, washed down with micheladas and agua fresca cocktails. The courtyard patio is open during these final summery days.

Hours: Saturday and Sunday 10 to 4


Et Voila!

5120 MacArthur Blvd., NW; 202-237-2300

Belgian neighborhood spot Et Voila! just revamped its brunch offerings—think savory buckwheat crepes, croques monsieur and madame, and bacon, egg, and Gruyère on a toasty muffin. Just $12 gets you bottomless bellinis, or there’s always a lobster Bloody.

Hours: Saturday and Sunday 11 to 2:30


The Grill Room

1050 31st St., NW; 202-617-2400

The Capella Hotel’s dining room just launched a Sausage & Rye brunch. Choose from ten varieties of fresh-made sausage from meat man and colorful orator Jamie Stachowski, who owns the eponymous butcher shop up the street. You’ll also find whiskey cocktails, along with egg dishes for traditionalists.

Hours: Saturday and Sunday 10 to 2



2201 14th St., NW; 202-234-5000

First chef Mike Isabella rolled out a patio at Kapnos, and then plans for an Arlington spinoff. Now he’s on to brunch, which starts this weekend. The many Greek-inspired items include baklava French toast, baked eggs with crispy lamb and feta, and taramasalata-spread bagels and lox. Go bottomless (figuratively) for $18.

M Cafe Bar

1634 14th St., NW; 202-290-1178

The newest Italian on 14th Street recently started a bellini brunch. Look for a modern Italian lineup of flatbreads, frittatas, egg dishes, and more. If the weather’s nice, a sidewalk patio is the place to be for people-watching.

Hours: Saturday and Sunday starting at 11

Red Rocks H Street

1348 H St., NE; 202-621-7300

The fourth location for Red Rocks is also the largest, with three levels and a spacious roof deck. Bask in the sun while sipping $15 bottomless mimosas or Bloodys (limited to two hours, which seems safe). Pad your stomach with steak and eggs, brunch pizzas, brandy-spiked French toast, and more.

Hours: Saturday and Sunday 11 to 4 (note that Saturday brunch will not be available during H Street Festival on Saturday, September 20)

    Personally, I steer clear of "bottomless" anything. I like bottoms. As for the continuous flow of cheap alcohol, I stay away, too, to avoid the concurrent outbreak of boisterous eaters (they transcend the boundaries of "dining").

    Steer clear of brunch at RedRocks. The restaurant was about half full when we went, which I anticipate it will remain on weekend days unless they make some adjustments, yet we still received terrible, extremely slow service (some of the worst I've experienced). They don't allow substitutions, even with their very limited brunch menu. I asked if there was any way they could do a simple pepperoni pizza since a sausage pizza was on the menu, and the waitress said no. Then, minutes after we ordered, the neighboring table received a pizza with pepperoni on it. Other neighboring tables seated after us, one with more people in its party, were served before us. They also messed up my simple order, and when we ordered drinks, they were extremely slow to arrive. One beer ordered during our meal didn't come until we were finished eating. We also asked for salt, and the waitress didn't bring it until we were halfway through. (Salt and pepper should be on every table anyway.) Though they apologized several times "for all the waiting," they did nothing to compensate for it. The breakfast potatoes were undercooked, and the entire breakfast meal was sub par at best. RedRocks should definitely stick to what it's known for - pizza. Even if they don't want to provide the full menu during brunch hours, they should at least offer a full pizza menu or some sort of build your own pizza option. I highly recommend choosing a different location for brunch. (Matchbox has similar offerings, but is far superior.)

    The Marriott Hotel (Democracy Blvd--close to Montgy Mall), Bethesda-- has a VERY adequate brunch! Custom omelet bar, bagels, cold cereals, eggs Benedict, potatoes, bacon, waffles, french toast, fruit, juices, coffee, etc..AND--- mimosas for those who want it! Anyway, it's easily accessible, free garage parking, VERY attentive and friendly staff . Additionally, there's a separate room for a private group brunch! Very pleasant.
