It’s short notice, but if you’re looking to go out to dinner tonight, the restaurant you choose could have a bigger impact than just satisfying a crab cake craving. That’s because for this one night a year, 150 area eateries are donating a percentage of their proceeds to Food and Friends, an organization that delivers meals to people living with HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other illnesses. Some places—the Tasting Room at BlackSalt in DC’s Palisades, Ristorante Tosca in Penn Quarter, and Freddie’s Beach Bar and Restaurant in Crystal City—are donating all their proceeds. Others, such as Hank’s Oyster Bar in Old Town and Dupont Circle, Georgia Brown's in Downtown DC, and Neyla in Georgetown, are donating half of what they make. And plenty more are taking part—click here for the full list.
