Who makes the best pizza in Washington? You tell us! We're asking you to vote in the first Washingtonian.com Pizza Pool, a brackets-style contest that will narrow 32 pizzas to one winner. For a refresher on how the brackets will work, head here.

Vace: There are no seats at either outpost of this old-school Italian grocery and deli, but the foil-wrapped slices of pizza are easily eaten on the go. The crust is crispy, and the pies have a low grease factor—the cheese is baked directly into the dough, and the salty-sweet tomato sauce is spread on top.

Flippin' Pizza: Although this chain was born in California, it was started by a Queens native, and the hand-tossed pies recall Broadway: You have to fold the crust to make a slice manageabl
