Tomorrow might be a good day to leave the bag lunch at home. That’s because from noon to 1 PM, Taberna del Alabardero in downtown DC is starting off its annual paella festival with a free tasting of Spain’s national dish on the outdoor patio. Chef Santi Zabaleta, using an extra-large paella pan, will lead a cooking demonstration for anyone interested in replicating the hearty rice casserole at home.
Taberna offers ten versions of paella ($22 per person at lunch, $26 at dinner), but tomorrow’s tasting will showcase one made with chicken and Spanish chorizo.
