El Charrito Caminante. This hole in the wall may not look like much, but it keeps local Latinos and Arlingtonians coming back for tacos stuffed with stew-like nuggets of pork and beef.

Surfside. Baja-style tacos—including superlative shrimp tacos with a spicy tropical-fruit salsa—are served in a fun, festive Glover Park cantina.
Taqueria Nacional. This tiny Capitol Hill takeout owned by chef Ann Cashion straddles the line between gourmet and authentic, turning out tender beef and golden fried-fish tacos.
