So much of the inaugural weekend is about taking part in events as they are happening, but in Georgetown on Saturday evening there will be an opportunity to step back and review President Obama’s first term in office from a unique perspective: the work of some of the world’s best-known editorial cartoonists.
The third annual Cartoonist Exhibit will also give guests a chance to meet the talented artists, including Tom Toles and Ann Telnaes of the Washington Post, Mike Keefe of the Denver Post, Jimmy Margulies of Time, the New York Times, USA Today, and Newsweek, Daryl Cagle of MSNBC, Signe Wilkinson of the Philadelphia Daily News, Christo Komarnitski of Sega, Damien Glez of Le Monde, and KAL (Kevin Kallaugher) of the Economist and the Baltimore Sun.
The exhibit and party will be at Malmaison on the Georgetown waterfront Saturday from 8 PM to midnight. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. There will be free food, a cash bar, and entertainment by Suspicious Package.
