Teenybopper-Mania Alert

The Jonas Brothers and Taylor Swift are coming to town, which means you should avoid the Warner Theatre today—and buy earplugs

It might not be as intense as it was last summer when the Jonas Brothers played the Verizon Center, but they’re back for a private concert at the Warner Theatre tomorrow morning, and we hear that girls are queuing for wristbands already. Distribution is set to begin at 2 PM and to continue until “the last wristband has been distributed or at 6 PM, whichever happens first,” according to fansite JonasWorld.  (With only 100 tickets up for grabs, we can guess which one will come first.) All this for a concert that begins at the ungodly hour of 7 AM. Plan for traffic delays, tears, rioting in the streets, and high-pitched expressions of joyful hysteria. For a reminder of what you’re in for, check out our video report from last year’s Jonas Invasion.

And in case that’s not enough teen mania for you, Taylor Swift begins the first of two sold-out dates tonight at the Verizon Center. Expect less boy craziness but more sincerity and intense identification with the idol in question. A Washingtonian reporter is braving the crowd tonight to report on any happy casualties.
