This subterranean Chinatown kitchen stays open till 4 am daily—it’s a favorite postwork hangout for Penn Quarter chefs including Café Atlántico’s Katsuya Fukushima and others. Skip the dull American-friendly dishes in favor of anything labeled “Hong Kong–style” or “house special.”

You’ll find steaming bowls of noodle soup ($5.95) with plump shrimp won­tons and bok choy; quarter ($5.95) or half ($9.95) portions of crispy roasted duck, juicier and cheaper than the traditional Peking; and Chinese hot pots ($10.95 to $13.95), loaded with chicken, jumbo shrimp, pork, or fish fresh from a tank up front. Everything is eminently sharable.
