Cookbook star Najmieh Batmanglij is behind the recipes at this chic Persian fine-dining restaurant, done up with shiny wooden lattices and brass accents. Her copilot in the kitchen: former Maydan chef Chris Morgan. Together they create food that’s both homey and beautifully presented. Many restaurants have ditched gratis bread, but this dining room’s welcome is a reminder of how lovely the offering can be. The warm pita is served with an array of feta, goat cheese, butter, and flaky Maldon salt. Add dips such as silken whipped eggplant or mint-packed yogurt along with a gorgeous cucumber salad. Whole platters sized for two and up are stunners, whether a whole rotisserie chicken with apples, apricots, and honey or a strapping feast of kebabs. Whatever you order, get the sour-cherry rice alongside.
