For those still eating carbs, the chain Noodles & Company has opened a restaurant across the way from Mosaic at Congressional Plaza. Locally there are already Noodles restaurants in Kentlands and College Park with others scheduled to open in Silver Spring and Columbia.
Inspired by an inexpensive Greenwich Village shop, Noodles has a menu featuring Asian and Italian noodle salads, soups, and entrées ($2.95 to $7). Look for penne with tomato cream sauce, mushroom stroganoff, wok-seared lo mein, and Wisconsin mac-and-cheese with add-ons of chicken, shrimp, beef tenderloin, and tofu.
