Hard Times is known for its tasty chili—the Texas-style blend is said to be based on a 100-year-old family recipe—but it also has atmosphere. Horse pictures, lassos, and Texas flags cover the walls. Above the bar, lit by a string of hot-pepper lights, are steer horns and posters from old Westerns. There’s an old-fashioned jukebox. After a few visits, the bartenders know your name. We can't figure out why there's never a wait.
