Affordable Lodge in the Great Outdoors – Rocky Gap

This six-story, 216-room hotel is Maryland’s sleek version of a mountain lodge, alongside a lake in Rocky Gap State Park near Cumberland.

Swim from Lake Habeeb’s two sandy beaches, hike the five-mile Evitt’s Mountain Trail, play the 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course, or canoe, kayak, or fish. The hotel features several restaurants plus a spa and indoor/outdoor pool. Rates: $184 to $199 a night for a room for two; $259 to $385 for a suite. Children under 12 stay free in their parents’ room.
